3. Hemp insulation project in San Vito, Puglia – The floor?

After having the new well pump installed, the installer tried out his generator and managed to pump water. Oh, yes happy days, it works and we have water on the property. I just need to work out the wiring now and find out why my brand new generator was not pumping water but we will come back to that….

In my previous post I mentioned that there was a step between the two rooms in the deposito. Well thats not going to work and give me a level floor, how can I fix this?

I could either level them with concrete, i.e fill up one side to level with the other, or remove the step. Let’s see what removing the step would look like?

Right, so it makes sense, let’s start some more manual labour and get started on the removal of the floor, its not that big a job…is it?

Well, little did I suspect…..

This was a back breaking task performed with a hammer and chisel and the help of an electric hand SDS chisel. It was very slow and manual with the chiseling and removal of the concrete tiles and stone taking a lot longer than I had planned. Hey ho, knuckle down and get it done!
